It’s autumn-time, and there’s just too much to love about life … here are just a few of the reasons why it’s great to be young these days …

1) The scholarly feeling of trekking across campus in early morning sunshine with good friends on your way to class … or through mist that makes you feel like you’re in living poetry
2) Going spur-of-the-moment to see a movie on a Thursday night with a group of friends
3) Giving way to ideas tumbling forth from your head, and filling a notebook with pencil sketches galore
4) Delicious hot lunches prepared by a loving mama and enjoyed at the desk at work
5) The joy of making espresso drinks for people on a cold evening
6) The rhythm of dance in Zumba
7) Settler Sunday nights with close friends
8) The mystery and romantic appeal of a Masquerade Ball so quickly approaching
9) Shielding yourself from October raindrops with a stripey umbrella that has a curved handle 🙂
10) A plaid bookbag slung over your shoulder
11) Essays that bring a smile to a professor’s face
12) Making goals … and accomplishing them – even if they’re as slight as buying a school sweatshirt and having a ten-minute conversation with your professor
13) A hot cup of chai to consume while doing homework or getting tasks done at work
14) Going out to see shows with the dearest of friends
15) Conversations on the bus
16) Sleeping in … and enjoying a leisurely breakfast and cup of tea over a favorite book
17) Dinners out to celebrate a friend’s birthday … and desserts that you just can’t resist
18) Sunsets that constantly remind you of God’s faithfulness
19) A brother’s guitar music to serenade you as you do your hair in the morning … or journal at night
20) One of the greatest satisfactions being that your homework is done early so you can relax on the weekend. 🙂
21) The beep-beep-beep of cards being swiped on the bus
22) Highlighting textbooks and thinking deeply
23) Being inspired and inspiring others.

There is so much to breathe in these days … I hope I’m not missing a second, because it’s a beautiful place to be in life right now. I love being at a real university … I love being this much closer to my goal becoming accomplished … I love going to school with my friends … I love dreaming about the future, but learning to be content in the now … I love living at home with my parents and my dear brother … I love my job which brings me so much satisfaction. I love what God can do with a life given to Him. His grace astounds me … and delights me.
