Day 1 – Worshiping God & who He Is

“The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they display knowledge.” (Psalm 19:1-2)

“Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory & strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness.” (Psalm 29:1-2)

“He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For by Him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things were created by Him and for Him.” (Colossians 1:15-16)

The Scriptures say it all. God alone deserves our worship. On this beautiful day, I pray that I would find my worship of my Savior in all I do. In the world He’s created all around us, in the friends He’s placed in my life, in the food He provides for me … but most of all, in the greatest undeserved gift of all: my salvation. What a gift to be saved from the worst punishment into the most glorious form of life – life shared with Jesus every day. How awesome that we get to be in a relationship with the God of the universe. Nothing else compares to this.

Prayer Postures for Today:
Choose a few attributes of God to worship:
His lovingkindness
His mercy
His faithfulness
His holiness
His gentleness
His omnipotence
His sovereignty
… and thousands others.
In all the “in-between times” – walking or driving to different places – lift up worship & praise to God for what He’s done.
It’s all around us … may we never forget.

And last encouragement today – this powerful worship song by Natalie Grant called “Your Great Name.”

Thank You for hearing our prayers today, Father God. It is because of You that we are alive and can worship with such joy and purpose.
